Facebook in its F8 meeting 3 months earlier declared an amazing addition to the Messenger app. The update was, they introduced Bots to their services and now in 3 months there are more than 11,000 bots on the Messenger. Also, now more than 23,000 developers working on creating the bots and more are pouring in every day. With bots the Facebook holds an ambition to make Messenger a hub for the Businesses to connect to their customers and make the Customer approach and service more personalized and wish that in distant future it can replace the toll free 1800- numbers. They also shared a few updates like now the developers can also use GIFs, Videos and Photos along with the other artificially arranged Conversations. Facebook said that very rarely it happens but the Developers are more excited than that of the users.
Now to those who doesn’t know what a Chat bot is, the Chat Bot is designed to automatically respond to the queries and questions with the Pre Formulated responses designed to satisfactorily reply to the users. Some of the other Bot uses were done by some Media Services like CNN where they sent News to all their users in their Inboxes. There are many other applications to it and within 3 months they have literally evolved the whole system.
Initially, when the Bots were introduced they were not favored by the users as they had issues like late responses and irrelevant replies. Some users said it is even more frustrating than the Info Graphics used by the Companies. But with an increased number of developers working on the Bot services, it has evolved gradually and will give some Promising results in the distant future. At least that is what David Marcus the VP of messaging products and Mark Zuckerberg is saying.
