Few days back Google sent an email to bunch of their Ad campaign users that unless they opt out of the service, Google Ads experts will manage their Google Ads campaigns! The update if not opted out will be initiated automatically and users must be certain that there will be changes made.
While this might seem exciting to most of the campaign owners, there are many setbacks of this update. While Google promised that this will not affect the budget set by the user, the mail mentioned that they will change the content and the Keywords of the campaign as they feel the best for the campaign.
While they say that this is for the good of the campaign owners, the change in the Keyword can affect the Cost per Click (CPC) of the campaign and ultimately the owner might be at loss. Also, the changes made by the Google experts will not be reflected anywhere leaving the campaign owners in complete dark! So, is it really a good bet to allow Google to make changes?
Our Suggestion:
The best thing to do right now is to wait and watch! If you have received the mail, it is best that you opt out of it and observe that the market review of this update is. Because there is a lot of undisclosed information currently and Google have also mentioned that there is no guarantee that the conversion rate will increase! Apart from that, here are the Pros and Cons of this update that we have identified:
Pros:
Cons:
According to us, this is not the best move from Google as they might have initiated this campaign to benefit their clients, but without understanding the objective of the campaign and needs of the client, it is not possible to optimise the campaign for the better good. The expert might know the market and their technology, but they certainly would not know the actual outcomes that clients are expecting out of their campaign.
While we suggest you opt out of this campaign for the time being, the ball is in your court. Do let us know what you think of this update and did you get any mail from Google or not. And if you have received any such mail, are you planning to move forward or are you going to opt out of the campaign.
