Stay Updated,
Knowledge is the wealth that doubles when you share it.
At Nesterz Webtech, we’re obsessed with helping our clients dominate the digital landscape. That’s why we stay on top of the latest Google Search updates and trends. Here’s a breakdown of key takeaways from the recent “Google Search News” episode, specifically targeted for our US audience:
Search Console Gets Smarter with Recommendations
Great news for those who might not be diving into Search Console daily! Google is rolling out Recommendations, a feature that surfaces helpful insights about your website. It can identify issues like incorrectly implemented structured data, making it easier to optimize your site for search. Keep in mind, these recommendations are still under development, so feel free to provide feedback directly to Google and let Nesterz Webtech know if you have any questions.
Search Console Performance Report Gets More User-Friendly
We all love a streamlined experience! The update to Search Console’s performance report allows you to keep your filters and settings when switching between websites. This makes it a breeze to compare performance data across your properties. Additionally, Google has hinted at more features coming to the performance report, so stay tuned!
Farewell Cached Pages and No Archive Meta Tag
Google has removed cached page links and the cache operator from search results. This doesn’t affect your site’s visibility, but it does mean you won’t see a “cached” link anymore. Google has helpfully included a link to the Internet Archive in search results, a non-profit organization that stores past versions of webpages.
If you’re using Search Console to see how Google views your pages, that functionality remains the same. The No Archive meta tag is also no longer necessary and has been removed from Google’s documentation. While it won’t hurt to keep it on your pages, it won’t influence Google Search.
Google Trends Gets a Refresh
Marketers rejoice! Google Trends has been updated to provide you with even fresher data and cover a wider range of countries and regions. This allows you to discover emerging trends in real-time and tailor your content strategy accordingly. Nesterz Webtech recommends checking out Google’s video series on leveraging Google Trends for SEO and search marketing.
Here’s a word of caution from our team of SEO veterans with a combined 20 years of experience: Don’t get carried away by every fleeting trend. Focus on creating high-quality content that adds value and caters to your target audience’s specific needs. Chasing every keyword rabbit hole won’t lead to long-term success.
